Forged from a single piece of Japanese "ao-hagane" blue steel, these scissors are traditionally used for cutting fabric/thread. We use them in our kitchen for pruning plants & snipping herbs.
The blacksmith trade in the Banshu region in the Hyogo prefecture began with forging Katana swords around 400 years ago when Hideyoshi Toyotomi attacked Miki castle. He commissioned many blacksmiths in the Banshu region to produce his swords, and Banshu Hamono is one of the blacksmiths that still lives on.
