Regular price $220.00 Sale price $195.00

These scissors are forged from Japanese steel & are traditionally used for Ikebana: the art of Japanese floral arrangement. The blades are set at a slight angle in order to snip the stem without crushing the plant fiber. This allows the flower to absorb more water & live longer. They are incredibly sharp, sturdy, and will last a lifetime.

The blacksmith trade in the Banshu region in the Hyogo prefecture began with forging Katana swords around 400 years ago when Hideyoshi Toyotomi attacked Miki castle. He commissioned many blacksmiths in the Banshu region to produce his swords, and Banshu Hamono is one of the blacksmiths still living on.

Wrapped in a custom cloth & enclosed in a paulownia wood box.
